Santana's Season in Jeopardy?
I can't tell if this is just Steve Popper and Bob Klapisch making shit up for page hits, since nobody else seems to be reporting it. However, if true, this Santana contract continues to get uglier for us.

I'm not going to worry until I see this elsewhere.
Not to say that they can’t be trusted, but it’s just one story quoting an anonymous source.

look at the brightside
if he can never pitch again, and his contract ends up being what puts the nail in the wilpon’s coffin, i’d say he’s worth every penny.

if true, we don’t have to spend the entire summer glued to game threads, hoping for a miracle.
Once May 1st rolls around and we are 10 games back, with no Johan “trade” in mid season, we can concentrate on other things.
No.
This is a depressing and negative outlook. It will not happen.
You are trying to be realistic, but perhaps too much so. I don’t believe the Mets will fail that miserably that soon.
Besides even if that does happen, we are Mets fans through and through. Perhaps I won’t watch every game, but I’ll still be watching on a regular basis and getting out to games whenever I can.

Now ESPN reports it.
But they’re citing the guys above.
Plus its Adam Rubin, so this is probably just part of his master plan to lobby for a job in the Mets front office.

CBS is sorta refuting.
The Mets apparently won’t be shutting Johan Santana’s rehab down immediately, so they were able to deny a Bergen Record report that said they might.
What they can’t deny, and what’s potentially more troubling to any chance the Mets have of contending this year, is that Santana’s future remains a great unknown. They can’t say for sure that he’ll pitch for them this season, and more than that they can’t say for sure how he’ll pitch.

Since I wasn't aware there was a chance the Mets would content to begin with...
…now I am doubly disappointed.

I honestly think JS should just sit out 2011.
no offense to those who hold out hope for this team in 2011, but I don’t want Johan to rush back to compete for a team that won’t compete…ESPECIALLY if Castillo and You Know that ‘pitcher’ is still on the team.
I really want Johan to rest his arm, elbows and what not and get ready for 2012.
*sigh here we go again, one report says one things and the Mets denies…geh. I thought that old crap was out the window when Omar was gone? When did he creep back in?
