Um, don't put people's names in the subject heading
Thanks!

I’ll just respectfully say that unless there is serious harm done by it, I don’t see the big deal to it. Names are visible anyway, and I did it at NetsDaily, since you brought NetsDaily into it.

Thank you for the explanation the caveman
See Russ, I complimented him, and because of it, wanted him to be recognized for explaining to me that it was plural form, so putting his name in the subject header gets this comment the recognition that it’s about him.
People know who you are talking to with out putting his name it the subject line.
That’s what the reply button is for.
You have been told repeatedly not to do it, continuing to do so is simply trolling.

I will make one simple statement on this
Then I am done with this issue. As was stated and known the first time I was here, the bipolar can cause mood swings, bouts of rage, and uncontrollable actions on and off line if things aren’t done precisely the way I need them to be. In this case, if I lose my place, what I just described above happens. The way I don’t lose my place is to put names in the header, so when I come back to the thread, I know where I left off, and can come right back to it, rather than search for it, and potentially get frustrated, which will set off the actions I described above. I know that is probably hard for you to understand, but it is a way of life for me, and one I certainly do not enjoy. I’m surprised a friend like you(you said we were friends the first timeI was here) would complain like this.
LULZ!

How long have you been a mets fan?
Life as a mets fan is Murphy’s law multiplied. If it can happen it will, but even when you think it can’t happen, it probably will.

I actually agree with SuperT for a change
You should know, Dandy, that any time a player leaves us, chances are he does well with his new team, or sucks against everyone except us. I guess that whole ‘’he won’t go to the minore’’ thing is out the door now.
Lupo!
Where you been? Sorry about the Jets but they gave it a good run.

Dandy!
I had some personal stuff to work out, but i’m back, and glad to be back. Yeah, i’ll just say two things about the Jets, since you brought it up. First, everyone said that they should shut up. Well……..the one week they don’t talk, they lose to the Steelers. Maybe the media sees all that stuff they say is not just trash talk. Ask the Colts and Patriots. Second, I really believe had there been even just two more minutes, we would have won that AFC Championship Game. Hoping we can keep everyone together for another run………….if there’s a season. Thanks for asking.
I think Rex's trash-talking was a strategic move, though.
He put the Pats on their heels by refusing to show them respect, but refused to give the Steelers any bulletin board material. I couldn’t help but be disappointed at how the AFC Championship went, but I can’t complain too much, considering how they exceeded expectations.

The only thing I can figure
Is he wants to do well enough to trick some team into giving him more money to play in 2012. But he would clearly have to bust his ass to be good enough for someone to pay him $3m+. (Between agents cut and taxes, it’s probably not worth his while to play two years for less than that.) And he’s clearly not disciplined, a team player, or a hard worker. Unless he wins a Cy Young award, he’s not getting a multiyear deal. So what does he think is going to happen?
He might actually be playing for pride. (or the love of the game or whatever.)

As was stated above by SuperT, with us, Murphy’s Law applies. Watch him go out there, and throw stellar games against us. Is Randy St. Claire still their pitching coach?
What I meant to say was
That be glad he’s doing well. And I know this hasn’t been said, but the reason I feel this way about him can be described in two simple words: Game 7. If Heilman didn’t blow it, things would be a lot different.
And if he didn't suck for the vast majority of his time here things would be different.
We don’t ow him anything.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
It's owe, I believe, not ow
Anyway, my point is that if we win Game 7, regardless of whether he took the win or not, he gets compliments for pitching the way he did in the biggest game of his life, and knowing his reputation for beating the better teams, probably beats the Tigers in the WS, and none of this ‘’sucking for the vast majority of his time here’’ would have ever occurred.
And if my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle.
He did suck for the majority of his time here and whatever hypothetical you think up won’t change that.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
Exactly
Say we did win Game 7, and then the World Series against a Tigers team that roughed us up in Interleague. We’d have Perez with at a minimum, six earned runs in eleven innings, a 2006 that sucked except for one start, a 2007 that was good, a 2008 that was crappy, a 2009 that was beyond crappy, and whatever the he’ll you can call 2010.
A piece of crap that has a few flecks of gold in it is still mostly crap.

Wow, we can post in mobile capacities?
Never knew that. Anyhow, calling Ollie a piece of crap is highly uncalled for. Ollie the player is undefendable. You are getting into Ollie the person, and the two have to be separated. Ollie the person away from the field is pobably easy to talk to, and a ball of laughs. The whole point was that none of what you said about 2007 to now would have happened had he won Game 7. Confidence. That’swhat he would have had.
No, he meant Ollie the player.
This is a guy with a career 4.63 ERA. He’s crap.

I think it was pretty clear that due to the context, he was talking about Ollie the player.
Confidence doesn’t mean squat if he can’t hit 89 on the gun.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
At no point did I bring Oliver Perez the person into anything
I don’t know Oliver Perez, and cannot speak with any kind of certainty about his personal life. I can, however, analyze and make judgements on his very public work history. I stated very clearly that his 2008 season was crappy, and his 2009 season was even crappier.
Everything that happened between now going back to October 2006 would have played out mostly the same even if we won the World Series. As already stated, Perez had a decent 2007. He needs confidence to be good? Having a good season is a great way to build confidence. Lo and behold, he had a fairly poor 2008 season. Having confidence is not what makes players good (though it certainly plays a factor, to a degree). Why did Perez get worse and worse? For pitchers, things like control and velocity and health make you good. Perez, at this point, had none of the above. He could have been the most confident guy in the world, but not having control of where your pitches go, having a declining velocity, and not being in good health would have made him a bad pitcher.

I highly disagree
That had we won the World Series in 2006 that things would have turned out the same. True, he didn’t have good health, nor did he have velocity, but I attribute that to Rick Peterson’s absence, as he got the best out of Ollie, and the miserable way he was handled at the WBC. As stated below, the WBC was the beginning of his demise. I maybe his most ardent supporter, but it’s clear he was very laid back, and rather timid at times, and players like that need confidence more than your average player. No, confidence can’t bring back his velocity or health, but it can mentally set someone up to succeed.
You can be in the best state of mind possible,
but if you don’t have the physical tools to be able to morph that positive energy into actual accomplishments, it doesn’t matter how positive your outlook it. Such is Perez.
Look at Pedro Martinez, circa 2008. He’s certainly was one of the most cheery, confident, outgoing people in baseball at the time. His track record, of course, spoke for itself. But, he didn’t have the health or velocity anymore, and as a result, even though he was pumped to be back, and was ready to pitch the Mets to a playoff berth, he didn’t do particularly well.

No mention of how Teddy Higuera may have been the cause of all of this
As I saw in a article on here earlier this week.
Maybe
But if Higuera did his job properly, then all of the physical ailments could have(I emphasize could have) been prevented. That’s when his knee issues began. After the WBC.
While I'm not absolving Higuera,
the Mets don’t seem to have tried very hard to get in touch with him at the time, or to even watch out for the $36 million dollar man. Hell, they didn’t even need to let him go to the WBC – didn’t we have like 10 or 12 players in it that year?
"And that's why anybody who invested with Lenny Dykstra should really call that number. Lawyers are standing by."
by BobbyV_Incognito on Mar 23, 2011 11:19 PM EDT up reply actions
You made my point for me
What you picked up on that they didn’t is this: Even as Ollie’s biggest supporter, it is indefensable to put any positive spin on his performance the last couple of years. However, they blame him for his level dropping, when circumstances that both you and I named could have prevented this. The organization could have done a better job checking in with the Mexican National Team, and for some reason, they didn’t. At that point, Ollie still had a chance. They had to let him go. The pressure is not Japan-like, but it’s still there. I really think, looking back on it, this WBC was the beginning of the end for Ollie.
Maybe it's not totally Ollies fault his pitching went to hell
but when he refused to take a minor league assignment to try to fix that problem, it demonstrated that he wasn’t willing to put in the work to fix it. The fault may lie in multiple places, but at least some fraction of it still belongs to him regardless.
