Tonight's Game Rained Out; Doubleheader Tomorrow
Fox has game one tomorrow, which starts at 4:10. SNY will televise game two. Here are the pitching matchups:
Game one: D.J. Carrasco vs. Derek Lowe
Game two: Mike Pelfrey vs. Jair Jurrjens
To celebrate Jackie Robinson Day (albeit a day late), the Mets and Braves will wear Robinson's No. 42 during the first game of the doubleheader.

We suck!
We won’t even win one game this series. Going to Citi on Tuesday with a bag over my head.

Braves haven’t been world-beaters themselves.
Morgan: Do you think I could come into the clubhouse after the game and display my ass for both those veterans and the younger guys?
Baker: Well, Joe, you are on the payroll of the team, and you're a legend, so I suppose — holy shit!
[Joe has appeared next to Dusty, in the dugout, completely naked]
Morgan: Hey.

Carrasco
Uh, am I the only one confused why hes still starting? Does anyone really expect him to last more than 3 or 4 innings? Hes going to be on a pitch count, and well, hes not very good. I mean even at best he goes 5 only. Kinda crazy to kill the bullpen in the 1st of a DH’er…
Hopefully they at least call up Misch to back him up… or something. Bleh.
they might just do that
and send Toyota down.
that’s what I would do.
then, you’d go Misch / Carrasco in game 1, Pelfrey / normal BP in game 2.
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
Based on what Rubin has right now..
It sounds like Misch could be activated after the 1st game… eh, that’s still kind of dumb to me. I much rather have him active and piggybacking (or starting) for game 1; you might need your better relievers (yeah, insert joke there) for the 2nd game….
Toyota? igarashi isn't as reliable as a Toyota

In part because the FO knows this won't be the only time this season
the team will need extra starters. This is DJs audition. They’re considering him for when they need 10-15 starts.

Does anyone know
if any team has ever had doubleheaders on consecutive playing days? I wouldn’t be surprised if we were the first.

Im sure it's happened before
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
I'm pretty sure we're not the first
130 years of MLB baseball has surely seen a handful of double double headers

Any chance for rain in Atl Saturday and they play 3 on sunday?
kidding. But a rainout tomorrow would mean we wont need to start Carraco or Misch.

this is outrageous!
when i heard the game was rained out, the first thing i thought was ‘thank god, now they can do a makeup game and dj carasco wont have to start…..’
the scenario i envisioned was in the mets’ best interest- the one we’re getting is in the braves’.

True, but scheduling a future DH isn't easy.
They don’t share an off-day until May 23, but it’s a travel day for both of them. There’s a mutual off-day on June 6th, after they play a series in NY, but the game has to be made up in Atlanta. Their next mutual off-day is August 4th, but again, that leads right into another series at Citi Field. The last shared off-day is September 8, but the Mets are heading home from Miami, and the Braves are going from Philly to St. Louis that day. Really, the only way to make it up is a double-header either this weekend, or in a future series in Atlanta, and this weekend’s the easiest time to do, although it’s less convenient for us.

MLB network
just showed that highlight. His second HR for the season.
They commented on an interview earlier this week where Franceour said he’s going to start jumping on fastballs.
Really? As opposed to hacking at every pitch thrown?

No what he means is
now he will jump on fastballs, jump on cutters, jump on curves and jump on splitters. He will leave the bat on his shoulder for all other pitches. He will of course continue to swing at every pitch outside of the strike zone

That, and I wish we could have picked up Zack Duke from waivers
Or however Arizona picked him up. He’d be an intriguing option- youngish, lefty, flyball pitcher at Citi…

Watching the Philly/Marlin game on MLB network
That Liberty bell gong has got to go. It’s getting as annoying as the Tomahawk Chop.
On that note, after they had to replace Oswalt, enter Baez with bases loaded who promptly coughed up the lead. Marlins 4-3
