The Amazin' Avenue Rec-ord Book: The 150 Most Rec'd Amazin' Avenue Posts of All Time (2011)
(Will this be nominated as the longest title ever?)

As a way of saying Thank You to everyone who makes the Amazin' Avenue site awesome, I am conducting a series of the 150 most rec'd posts ever in the history of Amazin' Avenue. Granted, I will have to sift through nearly 10,000 stories and FanShots to conduct my search (FanPosts can be sorted easily), but I am willing to take on this daunting task. All the results will be posted April 25-29, May 2-6, and May 9-13 in installments of 10 posts each, starting from #150 - 140 and counting down all the way until we reach the final installment - the top 10 most rec'd AA posts of all time, on May 13th. One important thing to point out, though: all results will be as of April 17, 2011.

In the case where two posts are tied for recs, the following tiebreakers will be used, in this order:

1) Date of post: Earlier posts receive first considerations.
2) Time of post: In the case where tied posts were posted on the same day, earlier posts receive first considerations, based on the post number.
3) Awesomeness of post: In the extremely unlikely event* in which the first two tiebreakers can not break the tie, I will judge which post is more deserving of a rec.
* Actually impossible

Stick around, as I go through the archives and embark on the search for the most rec'd posts of all time, which I will then report to you in 15 consecutive weekday installments.

I will edit the entire series, save them as drafts, then release them one installment after another. By the time you start reading #100, I will have edited the entire series down to #1.

What are you going to do about things like

I'm not going to count user comments or the total amount of recs received from all the comments of a particular post (I'd be doing that for 2 months!)

Just the posts themselves (Stories, FanPosts, FanShots)

i.e. this post currently has 1 recs at the time of writing (Thanks!), but if I were to rec your comment, this post would still only count as 1 recs (which I believe is not nearly enough to even crack the top 1,000) while your comment would also have 1 recs. Recs accrued from a post and comments within a post are treated differently.

In case you’re wondering, I think the cutoff to crack the top 100 is around 15 or so, but I haven’t counted anything just yet. It’s already obvious that any posts with recs numbers in the single digits have absolutely no shot.
