This is just a little ode I put together that seemed appropriate. A new and revised version of Meet the Mets in honor of our great friends the Wilpons. It mostly goes along to the original version of the song; not exactly on tempo at some parts so don't get too critical. The movement to get the Wilpons out of town has become even more apparent. I hope that this can be some sort of rallying cry to make this happen. The time has come for this family to stop handcuffing what could be a great franchise. I hope you enjoy my little piece and feel free to post any new verses or edits.
Sell the mets, sell the Mets,
Lets go Freddie and sell the Mets.
You are disgraceful, and a shame,
Free us from your terrible reign.
So we can be the team we’re meant to be,
And stop all the fans misery.
We all, wish you, would put and end to this now,
So we can cheer our M-E-T-S Mets, of NO Wilpon town.
Sell the Mets, sell the Mets,
Give up now and spare the Mets.
Go cry alone in Bernie's home.
So we can stand in Citi everyday,
And have a reason to yell hooray!
Your time has come, its over now,
For you, and Jeffrey, to take a final bow.
