Ron Darling & Gary Cohen: Bartenders For Charity
On Saturday May 21, Gary, Keith & Ron's charitable organization, Pitch In For A Good Cause, will be hosting a guest bartending night at Foley's Pub. Gary Cohen and Ron Darling will be on hand as guest bartenders, so you'll see how their mixological chops stack up with their broadcasting accomplishments. The Mets take on the Yankees at Yankee Stadium 3 that night, so it'll be a Mets viewing party to boot.
Tickets, which can be purchased here, are $75 and include admission to the event, food (mini burgers, hot dogs, pizza), unlimited soft beverages, dessert, and a GKR event t-shirt.
Here are some other particulars, straight from Gary's wife, Lynn, who has been instrumental in gathering support for the charity:
- In addition to Gary Cohen and Ron Darling pouring drinks behind the bar, we've now got SNY's own Chris Carlin making a guest appearance. And we're not yet done gathering surprise guests!
- With every ticket you get unlimited soft drinks and Foleys' mouth-watering mini burgers, hot dogs, pizza, and scrumptious desserts! You'll also snag our exclusive GKR event tee!
- Our legendary raffle items for this event are more awesome than ever! Win tickets to a suite at Citi Field, limited edition autographed items, two Shea Stadium seats, never before seen GKR gear, and the grand prize, a behind-the-scenes tour for you and three guests at the SNY studios!
- We'll be selling brand new GKR designs at the event, so be the first to snag yours! Father's Day! Mother's Day! Birthdays! We got ya!
- This year, all GKR's proceeds go toward funding a safe house for women and families in need. Help us fight the immediate effects of domestic abuse and provide for families that may be less blessed than your own. You'll feel great for it!

Of course
Naturally, Keith wouldn’t attend such an event. It’s hysterical how little he cares (not taking road trips, etc.)

Keith not taking road trips?
He did all four SNY games of the last road trip, vs. Ronnie’s one. In fact, I was just thinking how few road games Ronnie’s done over the past two years. Love to see some stats on this.
Not sure if it is Keith himself who decides, contractually, what games he is scheduled to work.
As for the event, not sure it’s fair to criticize a guy when you don’t know what his calendar is or what other things he may have done to contribute to this or other charities.

I was typing this event into my Google Calendar
when I realized mid-typing that I didn’t recall seeing Keith’s name. Entry deleted.

wish it didn't cost so much to go
i’d be there in a heartbeat
Anyone else thinking about going?
It’s expensive, but it is for charity.
