New York Mets Daily Farm System Report - 6/19/11
*All results from games played on Saturday June 18th 2011
AAA - Buffalo Bisons (28-42)_______________________________________
BUFFALO 3, NORFOLK 11 (Box)
Not much to say about this one...the pitching just stunk. The first two guys into the game let in 11 runs, the game was pretty much decided right there. Maybe they were tuned in for some NY-Penn League opening day applesauce, but they certainly weren't good in the long time AAA home of the Mets.
- RF Fernando Martinez: Hurt
- C Mike Nickeas: 0-4
- 1B Nick Evans: 1-4, K
- 3B Zach Lutz: 1-4, BB, 2K, RBI
- RHP Josh Stinson: 3 IP, 7 H, 7 ER, 3 BB, K, HR
- LHP Mike O'Connor: 3 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, BB, 4 K
AA - Binghamton Mets (23-43)_____________________________________
BINGHAMTON 7, TRENTON 4 (Box)
Familia let in a pair of runs, but he was very good on the night as evidenced by his 10 strikeouts. The Binghamton offense decided tonight to do their part, allowing the B-Mets to crawl back to within 20 games of .500.
- 2B Reese Havens: 1-3, R, BB, K
- SS Jordany Valdespin: 1-4, HR, R, RBI
- LF Eric Campbell: 1-4, K
- IF Josh Satin: 1-3, BB, K, 2 R
- 1B Allan Dykstra: 1-3, HR, R, 4 RBI, K
- RHP Jeurys Familia: 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 10 K, 3 BB, HR

Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (39-29)__________________________________
SAVANNAH 4, GREENVILLE 5 (Box)
Greenville did all of their damage in the fourth, scoring five runs off starter Ryan Fraser. The Savannah bats came up just short of doing enough to catch up, falling a run short in the end.
- 3B Aderlin Rodriguez: 0-3, BB, K
- CF Darrell Ceciliani: 0-2
- RF Cory Vaughn: 1-4, RBI, 2 K
- C Albert Cordero: 0-2, BB, K, R
- 2B Wilfredo Tovar: 1-5, R, 2 K
- RHP Ryan Fraser: 5 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, K, 2 HR
NY Penn League Brooklyn Cyclones 0-1)__________________________________
BROOKLYN 2, STATEN ISLAND 3 (Box)
Opening day in Brooklyn didn't go as well as planned, but it's nice to see the Cyclones underway again. Staten Island got ahead with a pair of runs in the 5th and one more in the 6th, but Brooklyn managed to plate a pair after that to at least make a game of it. Several nice performances in this one, they're noted below.
- 2B Daniel Muno: 2-3, 2B, 2 BB, K, R
- SS Brandon Brown: 2-5, RBI, K
- CF Travis Taijeron: 2-4, 2B, 2 K, RBI
- C Amauris Valdez: 2-4
- 3B Richard Lucas: 1-4, K, R
- LHP Carlos Vazquez: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 4 K, BB
Star of the Night
Easy call this morning...Rob Castellano is taking the weekend off after getting married, that's going to edge out the Mets farmhands today. Also an honorable mention to cjmulrain, who was scheduled to be enjoying his bachelor party at the Cyclones game. Hopefully someone ran into him and bought him a drink (or eight).

But he's more mature now.
That’ll make him a better recapper.

Who are these people?
Duh. Obviously a bunch of regulars from the Port Authority 42nd St. Bus Terminal who were rounded up and put in uniforms.

I wonder how good Bingo will be in the second half with a better roster
because they are playing embarrassingly bad, we might need a AA team in Long Island as soon as our Bingo contract runs out
I LIKE IKE!
Muno and Tajieron are both draftees
Are any of the others in the notable performances section from the class of ’11?
