Carlos Beltran And Curtis Granderson: A Celebration Of Quiet Professionalism - SB Nation New York
"But there is a pair of outfielders roaming the field for the two local teams who are very un-New-York-like: Carlos Beltran and Curtis Granderson. They stand as a quiet, classy and humble juxtaposition to big, bad, boisterous New York. And yet they fit right in."

I totally agree with the thesis here, and I love both these ballplayers
Curtis Granderson is my favorite Yankee by far, and I like that people are seeming to notice that Beltran is a truly great player despite not being a headline-grabber.
But boy, is that some overwritten glurge at the beginning and end of this article.
New York is loud. It’s brash. It’s in your face. Between jackhammers, car alarms, police and ambulance sirens, not to mention arguments, raised voices and the occasional gun shot, the city is a tumultuous, clamorous place.
They’re poetry on a baseball diamond. They’re an improvised saxophone solo. They’re players from another time.
I visited Comerica Park about 6 years ago
Granderson gave me a BP Ball and signed 4 items I had. He did this for every fan about 50 or so and talked to each of us. He’s very classy well spoken. He’s also fun to follow on twitter. He shows videos of players taking BP and how the player interact with each other.
