Mets Sending Harvey and Marte to Futures Game

Via the Binghamton Mets press release: "Binghamton Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey has been selected to represent the United States in the 2011 All-Star Futures Game on July 10 at Chase Field in Phoenix. He made his pro debut this season with the St. Lucie Mets, leading the High-A affiliate to the South Division First Half title in the Florida State League. In 14 starts with St. Lucie, the 22-year-old went 8-2 with a 2.37 ERA, averaging 10.9 strike outs per nine innings. He is one of two New York Mets farmhands that will take part in the annual game. 20-year old 3B Jefry Marte, a member of the St. Lucie Mets (High-A) and native of the Dominican Republic, will represent the World Team."
