Thank you AA
I've been lurking around this site for over a year, and recently started posting. So this is my first foray into writing anything for this site other than a random sarcastic comment.
I'm a Met fan living in Shane Victorino-land, also known as Hawaii. And Amazin' Avenue has filled a void that I didn't even know was missing.
My family and I have had some uncanny abilities to be at some of the Mets milestone moments. We were at the only game in the 2000 World Series the Mets actually won. We were also at the 1999 game when Al Leiter gave up an unearned run in the first and somehow Tom Glavine and #*($ing John Rocker made that hold up. We also got to see firsthand the most emotional baseball game I've ever seen (and still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it) Sept. 21, 2001 when Piazza hit that moon shot to beat the Braves. We also had tickets to Game 7 of the 1986 World Series, but my mom wouldn't let my brother and I go because it was a school night. And yes, I'm still mad about it. And I'm in my 30's.The (former) love of my life dumped IN THE MIDDLE OF Game 6 of the 2006 NLCS and I continue to blame her for all the Mets' problems. Believe me, there's a correlation. She's a witch or something. And evil...
So there's my Mets credentials. And here's my point: There are almost no Mets fans on this island. There's Benny Agbayani fans, there's Ron Darling fans, there are annoying Victorino fans everywhere, a bunch of Kurt Suzuki fans, but no Mets fans. You see -- in Hawaii, people root for homegrown talent, rather than teams. It's endearing, but annoying when trying to discuss why you shouldn't bunt with a speedy runner on first in the eighth.
To talk about the Mets, I must call my mother and wade through a half hour of how all my cousins are doing, before I can launch into a diatribe on why Jose Reyes should be a Met for life. And my mother counters with, "Reyes is only playing hard because of his contract," and then we go on to talk about my cousins again.
Amazin' Avenue is a godsend for a guy like me, where I can (for the first time in my life) keep an eye on the Buffalo Bisons and praise Dickey and look at awesome gifs and say hurtful things about the Mets and come back the next day and love the Mets. I appreciate all of you and all that you do, even the trolls and the haters.
So thanks, because being a Met fan is tough enough without having to live alone with this affliction.

Welcome
I think the word you are looking for however, is “lurking”. That’s someone who browses without posting. “Trolling” is someone who tries to piss other people off with nonsensical posts.
Sorry about your shitty game six. Since misery loves company, I’ll tell you that Game Six was during my first exam in college and the exam started at 9:40 at night. I cared more about the Mets game so I rushed out of the exam almost as soon as I could, and came home seconds before Yadier went yard and Beltron struck out. It was heart wrenching to fail a test to see that shit.

Allow me to be the voice of experience, if not necessarily reason
1. Thank God, or Yahweh, or Allah, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster that you can call your mother and speak with her. My mother is 81, and being from Brockton, MA, is a Red Sox fan. I feel blessed to be able to see her on a regular basis, let alone talk to her on the phone. Let her ramble on, no matter how much it makes you squeeze a tennis ball on the other end of the line (my tried and true method).
2. As noted above, unlike my mother, your mother is a Mets fan, who can name more than zero current players on the roster. Win.
3. Cousins rock, and remember that for most of us, our cousins were our first friends. Before we went to school, we went to family gatherings.
4. Don’t be a stranger. Let’s Go Mets!

Oh i feel your pain. With a poor team like that with so much talent must take a toll on everyone here. What about the Brewers from Milwaukee ? There gonna beat on the Mets tonight @1.59!
