NOTE - Both Buffalo and Binghamton had the nights off as the Triple-A and Double-A all star games were taking place. Buffalo's RHP Chris Schwinden pitched a perfect, 7-pitch inning in the Triple-A exhibition.

Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (11-7)________________________________________

ST. LUCIE 6, LAKELAND 5 (Box)

St. Lucie got down in this one early, but a Cory Vaughn 3 run shot in the 6th allowed the Mets to jump ahead for good. They'd go on to tack an needed insurance run on in the 7th, as Juan Lagares scored from second on a very shallow Wilmer Flores single.  St. Lucie still sits atop the division with the win.

Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (14-6)__________________________________

LEXINGTON 2, SAVANNNAH 0 (Box)

SAVANNNAH 7, LEXINGTON 3 (Box)

Savannah split the twin bill today, remaining atop the division as they have virtually all season.  Darrell Ceciliani and Wilfredo Tovar had nice days at the plate, getting 3 hits apiece for the Gnats.  Taylor Whitendon also had himself a nice outing in the loss, it's too bad the offense went to sleep for that one.

Short Season A- Brooklyn Cyclones (12-13)_______________________________________

AUBURN 9, BROOKLYN 3 (Box)

Poor pitching early doomed the Cyclones in this one, as Marcos Camarena and Steve Winnick allowed 8 runs to cross the plate in the first 2 1/3 innings of the game.  Brooklyn looked fairly lackluster after the start, and Nelfi Zapata wasn't in the lineup to save the day.  It's pretty unusual to see the Cyclones under .500, but that may be a good sign as it reflects that we finally didn't focus on as many "safe" college picks throughout the draft.

Applachian League (R)- Kingsport Mets (9-13)_______________________________________

DANVILLE 6, KINGSPORT 1 (Box)

Danville jumped out to an early lead in this one, but the game remained close until the 6th inning.  After Hansel Robles entered the 3-1 game, a hit by pitch, 2 singles, a throwing error, and another single doomed the Mets to the tune of a 6-1 deficit.  The Kingsport offense did very little to help out in this one.

Gulf Coast League (R)- GCL Mets (11-8)_______________________________________

GCL MARLINS 5, GCL METS 1 (Box)

Juan Carlos Gamboa scored a "Reyes Run" in the first, leading off the game by legging out an infield single, taking the extra base on a shallow single, and then scoring on a ground out.  Unfortunately for the Mets, that was the only run they'd score on the night.

 Star of the Night

Cory Vaughn will get the honors today, as he hit a go ahead HR, made a laser assist from the outfield, and had a good night on the basepaths.  Nice to see balls going a long way off of his bat again.

Goat of the Night

Camarena and Winnick can both have a set today.  Neither was very good, and combined they managed to bury the Cyclones before the game really got going.
