I dont see how he can get a fair trial!
He is convicted as soon as the jury see his muscular physique, bulging thighs, enormous forehead, permanent erection and his inability not to throw things at people.
Poor Roger.

just saw this on deadspin
District Court Judge Reggie Walton told prosecutors this was a “1st-year law student mistake,” and that “I don’t see how I unring the bell.”
this was after the prosecutors showed a videotape to jurors of a bunch of inadmissible material. pathetic.
hopefully most of the public will continuing prejudging him the slimy piece of egotistical garbage that he is.

Clemens is pathetic
But the prosecutors here are even more pathetic. Millions of taxpayer dollars, down the drain. End this charade and stop pursuing the charges. The point has been made.

No it hasn't James.
The point is that he blatantly and repeatedly lies to Congress while under oath.
He has to be tried to show that lying under oath is a serious crime.

he was tried
and the feds mucked it up like amateur hour.
i get your point that justice should be served but at this point i agree. but if the people who in charge of enforcing that justice are too incompetent to even begin making their case then you have to stop wasting time, money and resources and move on to the next case.
i would say continue prosecuting clemens forever, because he a complete a-hole, but personal vendettas aside, the feds had thier shot and they blew it. time to move on.
unless theres some legal precedent that dictates that they do indeed continue. im not a lawyer and i dont know how things are supposed to work now. im just giving my general opinion on things.

the people in charge of enforcing justice are the same people in charge of the debt
I know, I know………no politix.

From the linked article
…have you given a significant amount of thought to what prison is actually like? Federal prison? I feel that its omnipresence in this country contributes to how commonly the agony of the experience is discounted. Count every single thing about your life that you like, and know that almost every single one of those things will be gone. That is prison."
Yes I have thought about what Clemens is facing, and IF he is found guilty on multiple charges of perjury then he deserves what he gets. For justice to work there must be a free and open dialogue but there must also be truth.

So his reputation was ruined forever
and we taxpayers don’t have to pay for him to take up a spot in prison……but, again, his reputation is ruined forever……FOREVER……
I’m ok with that.
Proud to root for the Jets, Mets, and Islanders!!!
Wow, the government really screwed the pooch on that one
And life goes on, and I can’t stop hearing about it. Hopefully, on both matters.

Who'd have thought "inadmissable" doesn't mean "admissable"?
it doesn’t work like inflammable? that’s an easy mistake for anyone to make… Man what a waste of time and effort.
Hey, wait! I'm having one of those things. You know? A headache with pictures?

They lobby for 5 years please bargain, butI talked them into 3 years, with, uh, a fourth year of probation if they, uh, meet the certain criteria. My, uh, deal, I like my deal, you know?”

Yep
I was looking at his stats the other day for some reason and concluded that he’d get my vote for greatest pitcher of all time. Horrible person and probably my #1 sports villain ever, but a deserving first ballot Hall of Famer for sure.
by James Kannengieser on Jul 14, 2011 5:28 PM EDT up reply actions
Sure
2nd all-time in Baseball-Reference WAR for pitchers. Only Cy Young had more.
9 seasons of 7+ WAR (that’s nuts)
14 seasons of 5+ WAR (wow)
Led the league in ERA+ 8 times.
7 Cy Young Awards and he deserved most of them.
3rd all-time in strikeouts.
A couple World Series rings if that’s your bag.
He was great for a crazy long time and was also dominant in most seasons. Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Greg Maddux, Tom Seaver and various others have cases but I’ve decided on Clemens.

All tainted because he extended his performance and the number of years by using illegal drugs.

I’m always partial to Nolan Ryan myself, but I can unfortunately see your side of the argument. Damn you and your reasonable distancing from sensationalism

Satchel Paige is the best pitcher of All-Time,
because there is no evidence that he is not. Fucking logic, bro.

Of All-Time?
Cannot agree, even on the basis that the batters he excelled against were oftentimes hopped up on stuff, making his oft-dominance even more impressive.

yeah i just saw that
sums it up nicely. i would love for clemens to be a convicted felon, because i hate him as a fan and everything ive read about him makes me think hes a scumbag, but at some point, getting a few more people to agree with me that clemens sucks isnt worth the million of tax payer dollars to get a guilty verdict.
HELLO HELLO MR WILPON... BUY THAT MANSION. WE DONT NEED A CONDO.
maybe we should throw a broken bat at Clemens' head
just kidding.
but seriously, all that taxpayer money wasted—our government dollars at work! yippie!!!!!!!!
