I've been a Met fan for all my life (21 years to be exact) and I've been reading this site for the last couple of years but I haven't really engaged in conversation because quite frankly I was intimidated by the use of the advanced statistics, at first I was very hesitant to accept looking deeper into baseball statistics (also I suck at math, which makes things even more complicated). After a while I picked up Moneyball to see what the bid deal was all about, and as I was reading I realized how sense it made, and how outdated my baseball ideas were.
After reading Moneyball I began to read this site more and more, and agreeing with what you guys wrote more and more.
Anyway...what my point is, is that I was wondering if you guys can show me where to get a primer of sorts on some of the more prolific stats that you guys utilize around here so that I could engage in conversations around here.
Also...Greg Pomes is a bit of a dick
If you any of you are on twitter you can follow me at @8kpower (I talk more hockey than baseball, but I'm always entertaining)
