My first son, Cedric Shea, was named after Shea Stadium in an act of mercy by my wife who liked the sound of the name and agreed to it. :-) I tried to tag my second son, Sebastian CitiField, but she was not so keen on that.

However, not all is lost. At just 2 years old, my son knows who his favorite player is. Oh, and my wife, too. :-D OK, OK, now it's time for the Dodgers...LET'S GO METS!!!

My oldest, who is in kindergarten,

invented a baseball card game. Well, not invented—it’s the card game “War”. Two players put down a baseball card, and the card with the better player “wins”. The players go through a “deck” of baseball cards and the one who wins the iterative “wars” wins the game. My son decides which player card is better, based on his own evolving perception of who is a better player.

There is only hard and fast rule (really — I couldn’t make this up): The Jeff Francouer card always must lose.
