Maybe this is the norm since I don't buy team merchandise all that often but I got to say the prices between team gear in the stadium vs mlbshop.com are drastically different. At least in the jersey department that is. I currently have a replica Santana alternative white with blue stripes jersey and a blank replica away grey jersey. I was at the Brewers game this past Sunday and one of things I do whenever I go to Citi Field is go to the large team store at the Jackie Robinson rotunda just to check things out. I decided to look at the old jersey's from the 80s to see what they were priced and I couldn't believe it. These jersey's were priced at $140 a pop and it didn't matter if they were blank or had a player name on it. Now on MLB's shop you can get a blank home 80's jersey for for $80 and a blank alternate 80's blue for the same price. I was shocked but then I thought, ok maybe it's higher because they have player names on them but low and behold a custom 80s white home jersey is only $100 while the 80s alternate blue is the same price as well. It doesn't matter how you slice it but there is no way a custom name and number can mark up a product $40. Perhaps this is just something I've never noticed due to the fact I don't see live games often. Due to my location and my job I only attend one or two games a season.
However by contrast at Metlife Stadium and the Prudential Center jersey prices are the same or only $10 to $15 higher.
