AAA - Buffalo Bisons (57-73)_______________________________________
BUFFALO 0, COLUMBUS 5 (Box) Jordany Valdespin yanked a double and did not score, though he was the Herd's lone runner to reach scoring position. Meanwhile, the Clippers busted three homers off left-handed fluffballer Pat Misch, and we all went home screaming.
- 2B Josh Satin: 0-3
- SS Jordany Valdespin: 1-4, 2B
- RF Fernando Martinez: Still on the DL nursing a sprained wrist. Has played in 63 games in Buffalo this year, 11 in Queens.
- 3B Zach Lutz: 0-4, 4 K; borrowing a play from Brandon Nimmo's hat-rack
- LHP Pat Misch: 6.2 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 3 HR
AA - Binghamton Mets (57-72)_____________________________________
ERIE 4, BINGHAMTON 6 (Box) Bingo climbed from a 4-run hole to mount a 6th inning 5-run charge. Havens cranked a three-run shot -- Den Dekker and Lagares aboard -- and Eric Campbell pushed his team ahead with a two-run double -- a lead that was expanded when Den Dekker cracked a homer to begin the 7th. He didn't strike out neither.
- 2B Reese Havens: 1-3, R, HR(4), 3 RBI, BB
- CF Matt Den Dekker: 1-3, 2 R, HR(9), RBI, BB

Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (28-27)________________________________________
ST. LUCIE 1, FORT MYERS 2 / 5 INNINGS (Box) This ballgame began on July 1st, believe it or not, and lasted an inning before the rain fell. So they picked it up tonight, and played the game of baseball for one hour and eleven minutes, before pulling the tarp over a 5-inning, official Met loss.
- RF Cory Vaughn: 1-2, K
- 3B Jefry Marte: 0-2
- SS Wilmer Flores: 0-2
- CF Cesar Puello: DNP
- 2B Robbie Shields: 1-1

- RHP Gregory Peavey: 3.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (35-22)__________________________________
SAVANNNAH 2, ROME 6 (Box) Yohan Almote didn't walk anybody, didn't whiff anybody, only doled out the hits. The Gnats lay quiet until the seventh, when Joe "the Bonfire" Bonfire clipped a single, and Blake "the Scythe" Forsythe reaped what Joe sowed. That is, he hit a homer.
- CF Darrell Ceciliani: 0-4, BB, K
- 3B Aderlin Rodriguez: 1-4, K
- 2B Wilfredo Tovar: 2-4, 2 E(16)
- DH Blake Forsythe: 1-4, R, HR(8), 2 RBI, K

Short Season A- Brooklyn Cyclones (35-27)_______________________________________
BROOKLYN 4, TRI-CITY 7 (Box) Danny Muno knocked a couple safeties and worked a walk, and Richard Lucas, who almost fought an umpire the other day, cracked a home run.
- SS Danny Muno: 2-4, 2B, BB
- 3B Brian Harrison: 0-3, R, BB
- CF Tillman Pugh: 0-3, R, BB, K

- RF Eudy Pina: 0-3, 2 K
- 1B Ryan Hutson: 1-4,
- CF Brandon Nimmo: 0-4, 3 K
- RHP Robert Gsellman: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 HR

"Org's lone win"
According to your report, the org had two wins — Binghamton and GCL.
Indeed.
Pulled a rush job last night.

TRAID NIMMO
Squeezed to Song and Bendtner and Song and Nasri oh lovely lovely lovely!
-Peter Drury, the one time his commentating has ever been acceptable.
Nimmo
Well, this is where it starts. What I mean is, this is where the players who were successful in HS/College (or in this case, Legion Ball) find out baseball is actually pretty hard when you play other talented individuals. Excited to see how he handles it all.
Also, I’ve seen several places that mention Nimmo starting next year at Brooklyn. This seems to be where a lot of newly drafted COLLEGE players start. I’m wondering if maybe they should start him at Kingsport instead. At least to start the year.
Well it would probably be extended spring training and then Brooklyn
I would agree though Kingsport seems like a more logical choice to me.
Reese, hitting and more importantly staying in the lineup
Any task BIG or small, Do it well or not at all
Phillip Evans.
He debuted for GCL last night. Went 1-3 with a BB and 2 runs scored.
I lobby his inclusion in the daily recaps!
He was allegedly our toughest sign of the draft and we spent the most we ever have outside of the first 2 rounds to get him. Hyde called him “a top 100 guy in the draft with pick number 462.”
Here’s Michael Diaz’s scouting report and here’s Alex Nelson’s. Middle infielder with average tools but no weaknesses. He’ll be interesting to follow.

Nimmo
He’s probably just anxious to make a splash. If he started off on fire it would be great, but if he struggles for the next month it’s not the end of the world. It’s a small window for him to adjust to pro ball and get into a zone.
This
He’s basically been thrown right into pro ball without even a week or two to acclimate himself in the complex. I understand that they want to get him some reps, but these stats are going to be of even less worth than GCL stats normally are.

Actually, he's not even going to get a month
because the GCL season ends on Saturday, according to the online schedule. There’s 3 more games (they have off tomorrow) and then all those guys probably just head off to instructs or something.
Chamption of the R.A. Dickey Face contest and "Cromulent Photoshopper Extraordinaire" of Amazin' Avenue!

I think there's at least a one month adjustment
from playing inside of barns with a strike zone maid of hay and a tractor posing as the pitcher, to playing outside of barns with no farm animals. Let’s give him one month. If he fails…traid!

It would be nice to see Vaugn finish strong
it’s been a disappointing 2nd half for him.
