AAA - Buffalo Bisons (59-76)_______________________________________
BUFFALO 3, ROCHESTER 1 (Box)
Buffalo got 7 solid innings out of Pat Misch, and AAAA Pascucci hit another homer to lead the Herd past the Red Wings last night.
- SS Jordany Valdespin: 1-4, K
- IF Josh Satin: 0-2, BB
- 3B Zach Lutz: 1-4, 2 K
Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (32-30)________________________________________
ST. LUCIE 11, BRADENTON 5 (Box)
There isn't really much I can add to this box score...hitting lots of balls a long way generally wins games.
- RF Cory Vaughn: 2-5, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 2 R
- 3B Jefry Marte: 1-4, BB, R
- SS Wilmer Flores: 0-5, R
- RF Cesar Puello: 4-4, 2 R
- RF Gilbert Gomez: 4-5, 2 HR, K, 2 RBI, 3 R
- C Francisco Pena: 0-5, K
- RHP Gregory Peavey: 4 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 K, 2 BB
Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (37-26)__________________________________
CHARLESTON 5, SAVANNNAH 1 (Box)
It was a pretty weak showing for the Gnats, as Yohan Almonte did not have his best stuff last night. The offense didn't really do anything to help either by waiting until the 8th to put any runs on the board. The solo run came as the result of a pair of doubles from Luis Nieves and Wilfredo Tovar.
- 3B Aderlin Rodriguez: 1-4, K
- 2B Wilfredo Tovar: 2-4, 2 2B, RBI
- C Albert Cordero: 0-3, K
- RHP Yohan Almonte: 4 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 K, 1 BB
Applachian League (R)- Kingsport Mets (37-29)_______________________________________
- CF Brandon Nimmo:1-2, 2 BB, K - Keith Law is not impressed
- C Jeffrey Glenn: 2-5, 2B, 2 K, R
- RHP Jacob Lugo: 5 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 6 K, BB

In fairness
If I had to deal with the ESPN commentariat asking me questions about prospects all the time, I would probably be an even larger asshole than klaw.

But with slightly less attention to fairness
he really ought to know better than to tweet a flip, curt response when asked about a prospect who has been playing for all of a handful of games.
Yeah
I mean, I’ve seen Goldstein do the same thing for plenty of guys, though he is probably less actively a jerk on twitter than klaw is. I don’t know, it was a stupid question. But if he had the characters to just tweet “7 games” or something I guess that would have been better.

I'm sure Law's full answer would be Small Sample Size, relax a little guys.
But he’s kind of a dick, so he just goes with No.

Eh, no biggie.
When I write about Keith Law(which isn’t often) the words ‘not impressed’ almost always immediately follow, so I guess I’m used to seeing those words lumped together and not worrying too much about it.
Do we care about Cory Vaughn's Ks?
It seems to me like an .800+ OPS in a pitchers’ league like Savannah isn’t too shabby. He could be in Bingo by the end of next season.
Or earlier
Not sure he’ll start there, but he is 22. . . .
Yes
His swing has a lot of moving parts, so the fact that he is striking out this much at A ball should be worrisome, especially since he hasn’t shown elite power this year.

I would say the strikeouts are less worrisome than his overall performance,
as it is still ‘just’ 22% of the time. I don’t know about the FSL, but average k-rates are usually 17-19%. The walking is nice, but the rest of his stats portray a poor, BABIP driven season. His high came when he was raking in Savannah without much power but a .400 BABIP, been all downhill since.
@tmu, I would say there is no way he starts at AA next year, though I imagine he will work hard and be in a good position for a promotion as the season progresses. I personally don’t think the numbers say he is ready yet for AA; and I think den Dekker and Lagares will be 2/3 of the OF rotation for Bingo, with upper level OF depth filling out the other spots to start the season
I LIKE IKE!
satin...
what are the chances he doesnt get the call? i feel like hes been struggling a bit lately…i hope a late season, week-long slump doesnt stop them from a few september ab’s

Pascucci also stole a base.
His first since 2009.
"And that's why anybody who invested with Lenny Dykstra should really call that number. Lawyers are standing by."

Check him for steroids.
Obviously he's juicing if he's stealing bases now.
