Is it time for the Mets to rebuild? — ESPN.com
Some dude named Eno Sarris writes about the Mets at ESPN.com (Insider only; subscription required). Like with any team, competing means spending wisely and supplementing with good, young players from their own system. The silver lining with Reyes' hamstring injuries might be a falling price tag. If the price falls far enough on Reyes, he could be a wise acquisition. He plays a premium position on the field and in the lineup, is elite when healthy. His work, along with Wright's, hasn't been the problem on this team. Instead, there are some other expensive acquisitions elsewhere on the roster that have not been productive.
