Tonight, the Mets (74-82) begin their final series this year against the Philadelphia Phillies (98-58).
The Mets avoided being swept by the Cardinals with an improbable 9th-inning comeback last night, but alas the quest for .500 is no more. Meanwhile, the Phillies are on cruise control, gearing up for a run at their third trip to the World Series since 2008.
And while it's true that the Phillies are only 3-7 over their last 10 games, the Mets have to face Cole Hamels and Roy Halladay in this series. Thank God for Kyle Kendrick!
Mets stave off a sweep, take one out of three.

Graphic Guide: League average is scaled to 100. Scores higher than 100 indicate performance better than league average, less than 100 indicates performance worse than league average regardless of the statistic. For example, if a team has a FIP of 110% on the graph their actual FIP is 10% better than league average.
Statistics have not been park adjusted, but are adjusted for each team's respective league.
