AAA - Buffalo Bisons (61-81)_______________________________________
BUFFALO 5, SCRANTON WB 1 (Box)
SCRANTON WB 2, BUFFALO 0 (Box)
Buffalo ended their season with a double header yesterday against the Yankees farmhands from Scranton. They split the twin bill despite only having one guy on the field who probably qualifies as any sort of prospect. Buffalo took ad vantage of several wild pitches in a row to get on the board in the first one, and then Mike Baxter drove in a pair in the 5th to put it out of reach. I'm not sure if the team even took the field for the second one, but according to the box score Jack Egbert was not terrible through 4 innings of work to take the loss.
- SS Jordany Valdespin: 0-3, 2 K - 0-2
AA - Binghamton Mets (65-75)_____________________________________
READING 5, BINGHAMTON 4 (Box)
Binghamton should be fairly happy to see them selves finish a mere 10 games under .500 after where they were at midseason. Unfortunately their nice 2nd half was concluded by a poor outing from top prospect Matt Harvey who ends his season on a somewhat down note. Juan Lagares and Allen Dykstra certainly ended the season on a high note...both will be fun to watch next season.
- 2B Reese Havens: 1-4
- OF Juan Lagares: 2-4, K, R, SB (10)
- 3B Eric Campbell: 0-4, K
- CF Matt Den Dekker: 0-5, 2 K
- 1B Allan Dykstra: 2-4, HR, 3 RBI, R
- RHP Matt Harvey: 3 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 2 K, 4 BB, HR
Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (34-36)________________________________________
PALM BEACH 4, ST. LUCIE 1 (Box)
St. Lucie finished the second half with a loss, and that kept them under .500 for the latter half of the season. Thanks to winning the first half title though, they'll be joining Savannah and Brooklyn in the playoffs beginning Tuesday (Savannah actually begins Wednesday).
- OF Gilbert Gomez: 1-3, BB, K
- RF Cory Vaughn: 0-4
- 3B Jefry Marte: 1-3, 2B, K, RBI
- RF Cesar Puello: 2-4
- C Francisco Pena: 0-4
Short Season A- Brooklyn Cyclones (45-29)_______________________________________
BROOKLYN 7, STATEN ISLAND 4 (Box)
Not a bad way to finish the regular season for Brooklyn. With the win, the Clones finished half a game back of the Staten Island Yankess for the best record in the NY Penn league this season, and they will be matched up against Staten Island for the first round of the playoffs beginning Tuesday. The Clones are the hotest team in the league heading into the playoffs, having won 6 straight (including a sweep of the Yankees).
- SS Danny Muno: 1-2, BB, RBI, 2 R
- RF Javier Rodriguez: 0-2, K, RBI
- 3B Brian Harrison: 0-1, K
- CF Travis Taijeron: 1-4, HR, K, RBI, R
- LHP Carlos Vazquez: 2IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 K, 0 BB

I'm really hoping they and Vermont advance so that I get to see them make a second trek up here

Yeah, I am not happy that CT blew it
I was counting on a Cyclones/Tigers championship series.

Now that the minor league season is over, who will join the Mets this September?
Any chance Valdespin gets called up?
Bobby Baseball - The future of Amazin' Avenue.
Since i'm pretty sure he has to be put on the 40 man or else faces exposure to the Rule V
he should be getting the call.
Valdespin's already on the 40 man since he was eligible last year.
They called up Schwinden, Baxter and Pascucci today.

Well, that's another $10 for the pledge drive.
I just ran the #s: I already owe $40.11, so there’s another upside to Evans getting so much playing time. Thank god Dubs cut down on his strikeouts this year.

Was at the Cyclones game last night
Rafael Montero was really impressive. His command was a bit shaky, but the arm is huge. Fastball had to be in the mid-nineties and the velocity was easy out of his rather slight frame. Curveball flashed plus and with some refinement can be a major league offering. Worth keeping an eye on.
Travis Taijeron also hit a ball about as hard as I’ve ever seen in a minor league game. I am pretty sure it went over the roller coaster on top of the scoreboard in left-center.
