This is really the perfect time to begin the rebuilding for this organization
We have no commitments past 2014. Other than resigning Wright, should he prove to be a ~4+ WAR player the next two seasons, the Mets shouldn’t make a big signing for anyone until we see if some of our prospects, especially the four pitchers, pan out. With the exception of the Yankees, I think it’s pretty clear a team won’t win without homegrown stars, and right now we have none, depending on your current view of Wright, and only Davis appears to have the potential to become one.
Bay stinks
Wright is average.
Team is unwatchable.
Well, except for Dickey.
Jeez....please!
“Team is unwatchable. Well except for Dickey.”
Yeah, I can’t stand the idea of seeing if Ike returns to his mashing and slick fielding ways, if Ruben (though he is not Jose) build on his solid 2011, if the Dude continues to develop his power, if our seemingly-much-improved Bullpen manages to hold leads this year. Who would want to stick around to see if our young lefty Niese has the breakthrough year he has been flirting with, if Dubs returns to some kind of (perhaps fence-aided) form, if Daniel Murphy manages to be heart-attack-inducing yet acceptable at 2B, and if his bat continues to play. Andres Torres manning center…yawn! Might Bay’s decent September be a harbinger of not sucking…fence-aided or not? Why would anyone care if we get to see glimpses of the future at some point in the season with perhaps Captain Kirk, Familia, Harvey, Wheeler…maybe even Edgin and others? Who would want to watch a group of basically likeable guys wearing Orange & Blue.
(the above too long to be readable in sarcasm font…but you get the idea. I can’t fucking wait for 2012 to start. I know there will be plenty of SMH moments…but you know what? It’s my/our team, and if we continue to clean up Omar’s Mess and move closer to the promised land of Dickey…and Dynasty…and a de-Wilponed Mets….bring it on!
(end of rant)

Team won't even win 80 games
so who cares?
Dude, if you have nothing to add in the way of reasoned argument,
well-expressed opinion, or something besides tritely-worded expressions of your ennui and negativity…gtfo to MMO and “like” Metsie or Bayonne Mets Fan’s whines.

You sound like me in gamethreads.
Damn, I’m annoying.
I typed your symptoms into this thing up here and it says you could have network connectivity problems.
You are underestimating yourself, sir
Your gamethread negativity has, to me, the perfect barely-controlled on-the-brink-of-actual-suicide kind of all-enveloping black comedic pitch that is totally entertaining. This aronofsky fella is just a yenta.
First post
Been reading for a few weeks, finally decided to comment…I don’t understand the depth chart listing Bones as a MLB coach and a MiLB coach, also listing Backman as a manager for multiple MiLB teams. Anyone understand that?
It's probably just because the team has yet to name the replacements
for their old jobs. Bones will be the ML bullpen coach this year, while Backman is the manager at Buffalo.
Chamption of the R.A. Dickey Face contest and "Cromulent Photoshopper Extraordinaire" of Amazin' Avenue!
You might know me as mistermet.
