Right, sure, Jeff Bagwell is not a HOF'er
Every time I think the mainstream sportswriters can’t get any more clueless, they keep lowering the bar.
How does this bode for big mike?
Murray Chass has seen his back acne after all.
Anyone brave enough to read what Murray voted?

Does he still have a vote?
He’s not employed by anyone to write about baseball so I wouldn’t think so.
Save Jenrry Mejia!

Does anyone ever lose their vote?
Lots of guys don’t write about baseball anymore and still get to vote.

Vinny Castilla got 6 votes
he was obviously better than John Olerud
On another note, Bagwell and Tim Raines are inching closer to where they need to be. I mean, one shouldn’t need sabemetricians making careful arguments about why JEFF FREAKIN’ BAGWELL is a hall of famer, but I’m confident he and Raines will get the nod soon.
Mark Cuban for owner! Save us from the Wilpons!
Bill Mueller got as many votes as Olerud
Disgraceful.

Mueller is a guy i have suspected of juicing in the latter days of his career when he went to Boston.

WTF
I can’t tell if serious or not, but shit like this just perpetuates the unsuspected suspected steroid use.
It’s pretty easy: I’ve suspected EVERY player did steroids. Win-win, nobody gets singled out and we still get to gossip!
Astro Traveler
It was his 13th year on the ballot
He’ll share ballots with Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Curt Schilling and Roger Clemens. I don’t see it happening.

Next year's class should be big
With the newcomers of Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, Biggio, and Piazza, plus the eventual Morris induction and maybe outside chance of Bagwell being inducted, it would be nice to think that we are looking at least five guys inducted next year.
But, since MSM rules apply here, I believe only Piazza and Morris will be voted in, with Bagwell knocking on the doorstep with Biggio (Robbie Alomar “not a first ballot hall of famer” rule applies here). On the plus side, both Bagwell and Biggio will get in the following year, which would be nice for Astros fans. I will also predict that between Bonds, Clemens and Sosa, only one will get 50% or more next year.
Now, kids, being eaten by a crocodile is just like going to sleep; in giant blender.
I'm afraid Piazza is going to have to wait a while
The whole ridiculous “guilty until proven innocent” thing is going to apply to him as it did Bagwell. Murray Chass will be wheeled out of the nursing home to bitch about Piazza’s back acne, and hysteria will reign.

I would like to think that it hit Bagwell so hard was because he was a first baseman as well as the "guilty until proven innocent" thing.
I would also like to believe that the offensive numbers that Piazza as a catcher will heavily outweigh “guilty until proven innocent” thing. Besides, the back acne can be so easily debunked by any sportswriter who had back acne as a kid and never touched steroids. But, I also live in a fantasy world when it comes to the HOF so take whatever grain of salt you want with my statements.
Now, kids, being eaten by a crocodile is just like going to sleep; in giant blender.
I think there is a 0% chance Piazza
Isn’t elected in the first ballot.
His name has never heavily been dragged through the mud, been the posterboy of steroids or anything, and has so many records at his position.

Nor was he mentioned in the Mitchell report or in any of the books written by roiders.
Along with this is the fact that he seemed to have a natural decline in his numbers and no huge spike years Ala Paully Ballgame.

I should have worded it as "I wish it was a big class"
Although the dumbest thing that HOF voters do by far is the first-ballot HOFer thing. Like that means something. If you think a guy belongs in the Hall, just vote him in. Period. It’s not like the denote “first-ballot HOFer” on their plaque. If Biggio belongs there, then get him there as soon as possible.
At least with the steroids users/false allegations guys, there is some form of logic there. I may not agree with it, but they have their reasons for it. The first-ballot HOFer thing makes zero sense.
Now, kids, being eaten by a crocodile is just like going to sleep; in giant blender.
Didn't you know?
They are remaking all the plaques, removing the career achievements to include what ballot they got elected on. After all, that’s what really matters.
Save Jenrry Mejia!

How silly of me
This is the writers’ hall of fame. How could I be so naive?
Now, kids, being eaten by a crocodile is just like going to sleep; in giant blender.
And if the writers don't stop being sanctimonious about steroids,
the ballots are going to be crazy filled in a few years. Bonds, McGwire, Clemens, Palmeiro, and Sosa, plus Bagwell, Raines, Maddux, Glavine, Trammell, Martinez, etc? We might actually see a few years where writers don’t have enough votes.

Happy for Larkin
I grew up watching him, this is nice to see.
But how Bagwell didn’t get in…just ridiculous.

I dont share your optimism.
I think there is a general boycott of known AND suspected users.
