The Mets were quiet yesterday, so we'll skip ahead to other matters.

Around the Playoffs

In 12 innings, the Tigers beat the Yankees 6-4 in Game One of the ALCS. Down 4-0 to Detroit headed into the bottom of the ninth, the Yankees got two-run home runs from Ichiro and playoff hero Raul Ibanez to tie things up at 4 apiece off of Jose Valverde. Unfortunately, that'd be all they could muster the rest of the night. The Tigers scratched out two runs in the 12th off of David Phelps, one of them in part to an awful dive for a line drive by Nick Swisher in RF. In bad news for the Yankees, Derek Jeter left in that 12th inning with a fractured ankle and he's finished for the postseason.

Game two of the ALCS between the Yankees and Tigers starts at 4:00 PM on TBS. It'll be Hiroki Kuroda on the mound going up against Anibal Sanchez. Later tonight, game one of the NLCS is on FOX at 8:00 PM. The Giants host, as they'll send Madison Bumgarner to the hill to face against Lance Lynn for the Cardinals.
