The Real Triple Crown

With all the talk of Miggy and his BA, HR, and RBI numbers, I figured I'd dig into my newly proposed "real triple crown of batting". I've seen people do this before and claim that BA/OBP/SLG should be the real triple crown of batting, since it incorporates everything with hitting (walks, doubles, and triples, along with the already included home runs and singles). My issue with this is that singles are counted in all three stats, so we're sort of beating around the bush at what we're actually trying to figure out: who is the best at hitting for average, walking, and hitting for power.

That's my new "real triple crown".

Batting Average: who can hit at the highest rate

BB%: who draws walks at the highest rate

ISO: who hits for power at the highest rate

So let's have a look at who won. I used only those eligible for the batting title.

BA: Buster Posey (.336)/ Miguel Cabrera (.330)

BB%: Adam Dunn (16.2%)/ Dan Uggla (14.9%)

ISO: Josh Hamilton (.292)/ Ryan Braun (.276)

Also note: not qualified yet over 400 ABs were both Votto and Stanton who would have won the BB% and ISO categories respectively.
