2012 AA Prospects List #5
With 46% of the vote Brandon Nimmo is elected the #4 prospect.
1: Mat Harvey, SP
2: Zack Wheeler, SP
3: Jeurys Familia, SP
4: Brandon Nimmo, OF
The poll for #5 will be open until 12AM on Tuesday. I have added two more players to the poll raising the total to eight because that is what people wanted. When voting please do so without looking at the results first. I know it's tempting but I would like an honest result.
Additionally, please lobby who should be added to the next poll in the comments.

Voted for Kirk
I mean theoretically if Reese can stay healthy for the first half he’ll probly get a call up this season, but 1. Kirk probably gets called up first, and 2. who really expects Havens to stay healthy? I don’t think Havens’ ceiling is that much higher anyway at this point.

and he has taken over
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
Voted for Kirk
On virtue that he’s produced at the highest level and will likely have major league service time this season. I don’t like to buy into the “4th outfielder” rhetoric because it seems that there are so many 4th OF-types starting for championship teams, but I understand his limitations.
Wanted to vote for Reese here, but he’s never been healthy, and while he has a ton of talent, I’m skeptical that he’ll live up to it in the MLB. He’ll be 25 this season, and he should have been the Mets starting 2B for the 2011 season, and it looks like he won’t be able to try that until he’s 26.

I agree with this though
I think you’ll see Reese up in the majors at some point. His issue is health and with the constant injuries, I can’t rank him over Kirk. I’m hoping for a healthy year from Havens but honestly, who the hell knows at this point. For me, that pushes him down a lot.

Voted for Kirk as well.
He’s just so much farther ahead than Nimmo and most of these guys, that I voted for him for the #4 spot, too.

I'm assuming Nimmo
won round 4, since he’s no longer on the board. He would have been my 5th pick, so I went with Captain Kirk on this one.
I hesitated to pick Nimmo 4th (behind Harvey, Wheeler and Famillia) only b/c his talent is raw yet, he’s young and there isn’t much history to go on.

Reese Havens has a hell of a bat when he's healthy.
The big caveat being “when he’s healthy”. Whether you think I’m right or wrong, I nick him because of his inability to stay healthy.
I made a case for any three of those outfielders in the poll in my head, because I’m not crazy about Nieuwenhuis. I voted Lagares, but I came very close to voting for Kirk and Cesar Puello. Kirk is what he is (I lean towards second division starter, not 4th outfielder) but I think there’s still plenty to dream on with Lagares and Puello. I just think Lagares’ hit tool is legit.
"Hey Paul, re..remember when you were in The Beatles? That was awesome."
I like Havens more than Kirk but the health issues are too much to vote in that order
I lobby Cory Vaughn for the next spot
I don't want to give too many options
but I think soon we should have a more open poll (aka more entries) to see who gets serious vote consideration, as there is likely to be a lot of variation in thoughts on a lot of these guys

Voted Wilmer
High upside, young, healthy and we were all in love with him just a year ago.
Then again, I’d still have Fernando Martinez in our top 10 if he were here.
