With 37% of the vote Jordany Valdespin is elected the #8 prospect.

2: Zack Wheeler, SP
3: Jeurys Familia, SP
4: Brandon Nimmo, OF
5: Kirk Nieuwenhuis, OF
6: Reese Havens, MI
7: Cesar Puello, OF

The poll for #9 will be open until 12AM on Wednesday. When voting please do so without looking at the results first. I know it's tempting but I would like an honest result.
Additionally, please lobby who should be added to the next poll in the comments.

Still in lobby of Wilmer Flores
And, with one vote in, he has 100% of the total votes. Hurray!

Yeah, it's after this that it starts getting into the nitty-gritty
The more established, well-known, sure-thing prospects are more or less gone now.

Yeah #10 will be really interesting.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
2012 Amazin' Avenue Offseason Plan: 2nd place
Eh, I wouldn't have Valdy in the top 10 at all
but whatever. Flores is an easy choice for me here. For all of the flack he gets, he has a .280 career average at high A as a teenager. I’m still convinced this is his year to break out, they didn’t compare him to Miguel Cabrera for nothing.

Why no Valdespin?
He has tools which have started to get transformed into production from the MI.

I'll be skeptical of his faults until I see how he does with a full season of AAA
He’s a shortstop who can’t play the position in the major leagues, has no patience at the plate and strikes out a ton. He’ll be 24 and put up an 86 wRC+ at Buffalo. He’s definitely a good athlete with speed and a good hit tool and he can make a decent utility player, but there are higher ceilings in the system I would have over him.

Valdespin's ceiling is one of the most attractive things about him.
It’s Reyes-lite.

I see a bench player
He could be a good bench guy, but I think something like Luis Valbuena might be more likely. I like Evans ahead of him as an infield prospect. I have him at #12 though, so not too far off.
Valdespin was 19 when he debuted in for the DSL Mets, the same age at which
Reyes hit over .300 as a major league starting shortstop. I think Valdespin is more like Ian Desmond with more power, which could possibly be seen as 2005-Reyes with less steals and triples.
I actually like Valdespin, but I think the Ian Desmond comp is fair for him. Players like this can have long careers with important roles, just ask Fernando Vina.

Because I have others ahead of him?
My top ten is 1) Wheeler 2) Harvey 3) Familia 4) Nimmo 5) Havens 6) Kirk 7) Mejia 8) Puello 9) Fulmer 10) Flores. I like Evans, Mazzoni, and Tapia more, and I might even have Cordero over him. He’s a top 20 guy, but not a top 10.

Personally, he's not in mine, either
He’s damn close, in the 10-15 range.
