Mets Minor League ST Report - 3/21
ZEPHYRS 4, BISONS 4 Most notably, RHP Matt Harvey got the start in this one and allowed three runs over six innings. Offesnviely, the star was the French-Canadian C Jean-Luc Blaquiere who blasted a two-run shot. 1B Allan Dykstra went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI's, while 3B Zach Lutz went 1-for-3. SUNS 8, B-METS 3 RHP Gonzalez Germen got the start and though he was dominant through 2+ innings -- see, 5 K's -- he left in the third with two men on. RHP Taylor Whitenton promptly allowed the next batter to homer and the rout was on. OF Darrell Ceciliani was the offensive star in this one, going 3-for-5 with a double and a triple while the hot-hitting OF Cory Vaughn knocked his second homer of the spring. METS 3, CARDINALS 3 As usual, very few details about the A-level baseball aside from the few key participants, including LHP Carlos Vazquez, RHP Marcos Camarena, RHP Jacob DeGrom, RHP Julian Hilario and last but certainly not least LHP Steven Matz. According to first-hand reports Matz "looked really good", allowing one run and striking out one in one inning. Offensively, the game saw a number of notable outfielders in Brandon Nimmo, Gilbert Gomez and Joe Tuschak.
