Miguel Batista, the bullpen's long-man and spot-starter.
The Mets got a two-run bomb from Mike Nickeas and three other runs this afternoon, but it wasn't quite enough to defeat the Marlins.
While the offense was pretty good against the Marlins' pitchers, all of whom were major league players, the Mets went with a bullpen day that didn't end well. Miguel Batista gave up one run in two innings, Frank Francisco did the same, and Manny Acosta gave up six hits and three runs in one-and-a-third to end the game. Ramon Ramirez and Jon Rauch combined for three scoreless innings between Francicso and Acosta.
The Mets host the Tigers tomorrow at 1:10 pm, and the game will be on both SNY and WFAN. After that, the Mets have just three spring training games remaining, the first against the Braves on Monday and a pair of games against the Yankees on Tuesday and Wednesday.
And, of course, they open the season at Citi Field on Thursday against the Braves.
Nice job by MetsFan4Decades; her effort in the game thread embiggens us all.
