David Wright was a late scratch for tonight's game, forcing manager Terry Collins to use Ronny Cedeno at third base while Justin Turner played first. As it turns out, Wright had jammed his right pinkie finger during Monday night's game against the Nationals at Citi Field. The Mets released a statement tonight confirming the injury:

"Last night, David Wright jammed the fifth finger of his right hand. An X-ray revealed a small fracture at the middle joint of the finger. This is a non-operative injury. The finger will be splinted and reevaluated tomorrow. David can return to baseball activity as tolerated."

The Mets have yet to make a decision about Wright's availability but a trip to the 15-day disabled list isn't out of the question. At all events, he'll be out of action for a little bit and Collins has no choice but to use Cedeno or Turner more often than he'd probably care to. Too bad Nick Evans is no longer around.
