Wearing their fantastic road grey uniforms and blue hats, the Mets took first of three games in Philadelphia. They jumped out to quick lead in the first inning with a pair of doubles by Ruben Tejada and Daniel Murphy and a two-run bomb by Jason Bay.

R.A. Dickey threw seven excellent innings, allowing only one run on nine hits with seven strikeouts and only one walk.

Cliff Lee threw seven innings, too, but not before Scott Hairston tacked on a run in the fifth with a solo home run to left. Lee struck out seven and walked none, but the home run was clearly his Achilles' heel this evening.

Kyle Kendrick and Bobby Parnell each pitched a scoreless eighth inning. Kendrick stayed on for the ninth, and the Mets loaded the bases with nobody out but were only able to score one run on a Lucas Duda sacrifice fly.

Frank Francisco allowed an unearned run in the bottom of the inning thanks to a grounder right through Daniel Murphy's legs, but he wound up striking out three to put it in the books.
