The Mets haven't won very many spring training games, but they had no problem topping the Braves this afternoon.
Tim Hudson held the Mets scoreless for two innings, but they scored four runs in six innings against Brandon Beachy. The first came in the third inning when Ruben Tejada grounded into a double play. The second, third, and fourth runs scored on a Tejada home run in the fifth. The Mets tacked on four in the ninth inning, thanks in large part to a pair of bases-loaded walks by Jose Lugo.
On the mound, the Mets' bullpen had a mostly good day. The five relief pitchers who appeared combined for eight strikeouts and one walk. Bobby Parnell, Manny Acosta, and Ryan Fraser each had scoreless outings, and Ramon Ramirez and Miguel Batista surrendered a run a piece.
The Mets play their penultimate spring training game tomorrow as they host the Yankees at 2:10 pm. The game will be on SNY and WFAN.
