Would the Mets fans out there be interested in starting a movement to encourage Mets fans to give Jose Reyes a warm reception at his next trip to Citi Field on August 7? I think some fans did not know the circumstances around Reyes' departure and would act differently if they did. Other than spreading the message to cheer and not boo Reyes on boards and blogs, maybe some fans on this board could go early to the 8/7 game and stand at each entrance gate with signs encouraging a loud and warm cheer for Reyes on his first at bat as an apology of sorts for the shabby treatment given to him last week. I am a passionate Mets fan but do not live in NY anymore so I cannot go to games myself, but I would greatly appreciate it if we could help convince our fellow fans to give Reyes some of that old school love. I think our behavior towards Reyes reflected poorly on the fan base.
