There were only two games involving Mets farmhands on tap yesterday, so this morning's farm report will be a short one. The Bisons started their first series of the year against the rival Rochester Red Wings, and Savannah played host to Augusta.
AAA Buffalo Bisons (3-1): Buffalo Bisons 5 - Rochester Red Wings 3
The long ball was the story of the day in Rochester. Buffalo fell behind early on, but went yard twice in the top of the 4th inning (Loewen, Tuiasosopo) to take the lead in this one. Valentino Pascucci would put the Mets ahead for good in the 8th with a solo shot of his own.
Jordany Valdespin - 1-4, BBZach Lutz - 1-3, BB, K
Valentino Pascucci - 2-5, HR, RBI, 2 K
Lucas May - 0-4, 2 K
Vinny Rottino - 1-4, K
Adam Loewen - 1-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K
Matt Tuiasosopo - 2-4, HR, RBI
Jeremy Hefner - 7 IP, 7 H, 3 R (2 ER), 4 K, 2 BB, HR
Danny Herrera - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K, 0 BB
Low A Savannah Sand Gnats (2-2): Augusta Green Jackets 8 - Savannah Sand Gnats 5
On a day where the green jacket was awarded in Augusta, I suppose it's only fair that the Green Jackets managed a win of their own. Savannah took an early lead in this one, but the bullpen would allow 5 runs as the Green Jackets would come back to win this one late.
Aderlin Rodriguez - 1-4, HR(2), 3 RBI, R, K
Tillman Pugh - 1-5, K
Brian Harrison - 1-4, BB
Camden Maron - 1-3, BB, 2 K, RBI
Dustin Lawley - 0-4, BB
Gregory Pron - 0-4, K
Domingo Tapia - 5 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 3 K, BB
Star Of The Night
With only two games on the docket it's a bit of a slim picking for a star tonight. With no real out of this world type performances, I'll give it to the trio of Adam Loewen, Matt Tuiasosopo, and Val Pascucci for going yard and helping the Bisons to a 3-1 start on the season. WIN METHOD approves.
Goat Of The Night
As with the star of the night performance, there wasn't a whole lot to choose from as far as goats go. The Savannah bullpen duo of Carlos Vazquez and Estarlin Morel can have the horns today, nobody likes to see a late lead coughed up involving Augusta on this particular Sunday afternoon.
