Buffalo was postponed yesterday, so we'll start you off with AA.
AA - Binghamton Mets (12-11)_____________________________________
AKRON 3, BINGHAMTON 2 (Box)
Some "interesting" fielding by Jefry Marte let Akron score a pair in the top of the 8th and take last night's game. After missing a bouncing ball hit towards him, he eventually dropped the ball with a chance to tag out the go ahead run on his way to third base. Akron would go on to score a pair and take the series opener. Why does it seem like this type of stuff only seems routine to Mets fans?
- LF Juan Lagares: 2-3, BB, K, R; That's 11 walks so far versus 26 all of 2011
- CF Matt Den Dekker: 1-4, K
- 3B Jefry Marte: 1-4, That thing we mentioned earlier
- C Juan Centeno: 1-3
- LF Pedro Zapata: 0-3, 2 K
- 2B Reese Havens: 0-2, 2 BB, 2 K
- LHP Darin Gorski: 6 IP, 1 H, ER, 3 K, 3 BB
Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (20-4)________________________________________
ST. LUCIE 2, FT. MYERS 1 (Box)
The bats were quiet today, but St. Lucie got the pitching we've come to expect as they increased their lead in the division to 9 after just 24 games. D.J. Carrasco worked a scoreless inning in this one as he rehabs his injury, and Adam Kolarek continues to look impressive. The way these guys are playing, we'll be talking magic number in the very near future.
- RF Cesar Puello: 1-3, R
- 3B Wilmer Flores: 1-4, 2B
- SS Wilfredo Tovar: 0-3
- RF Cory Vaughn: 0-4, 2 K; So ends the 3-game homer streak
- 2B Danny Muno: 0-4
- 3B Richard Lucas: 2-4, RBI
- RHP Chase Huchingson: 5.1 IP, 4 H, ER, 5 K, 4 BB
- LHP Adam Kolarek: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 3 K, 0 BB; Still hasn't allowed a run in 13 IP...he's not Edgin but he's a big lefty relief arm worth keeping an eye on
Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (14-11)__________________________________
SAVANNAH 10, LEXINGTON 9 (Box)
The pitching wasn't good in this one, but the bats certainly were. Savannah belted 5 HR's on their way to the 10-9 victory, 2 of which were by center fielder Travis Taijeron. It's rare that we see a slugfest like this where Aderlin Rodriguez doesn't join in the fun, but he was relatively quiet on the night.
- C Cam Maron: 1-5, HR(1), BB, RBI, 2 R
- 3B Aderlin Rodriguez: 1-6, K
- CF Tillman Pugh: 1-5, R, K, 2 SB
- SS TJ Rivera: 1-4, HR, 2 BB, K, 3 R, RBI
- CF Travis Taijeron: 3-5, 2 HR(6), 3 R, 5 RBI, BB, K
- RHP Rafael Montero: 5 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 3 K, 0 BB, 2 HR
- LHP Jack Leathersich: 2 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 BB, K
