I play in a little fantasy baseball league called !Sabermetrics, agaisnt a group of wide eyed met fans from around these parts (and which, i am happy to point out... I am still in 1st place... although last night made it very difficult for me to keep that spot... its on mistermet). I have a grown man that goes by the name of chipper on my team. In the notes for him today, there was this little tidbit Jones is being honored by the Reds with commemorative bases emblazoned on their sides with "CELEBRATING THE CAREER OF #10 CHIPPER JONES" and the logos of the Reds and Braves. Later in the four-game series, the Reds will present one of the game-used bases to Jones, one to the Braves Museum and Hall of Fame, and one to the Reds Hall of Fame I thought to myself... oh, I didnt know that Chipper had started his career for the reds. Lo and behold... he sure didnt. I get that the guy is a HOFer. He has been a great ballplayer. But I dont remember this kind of love for other great players from so many opposing teams. Is this normal and I just dont remember or do all these other teams have a hard on for Larry that is just unreal?
