He's on fire!

Considering the Mets are missing three position players who would play on nearly an everyday basis, the team has done a good job staying afloat at the plate. The lineup was once again top-heavy this week, as just a few players were great while several others were very, very bad.

Still, the Mets' .334 OBP is third-best in the National League this year. With runners on base, the offense could be outstanding if not for a .374 slugging percentage that is the fourth-lowest in the NL. This week's player meter covers games from May 18 through May 24.

Mike Baxter, OF			Baxter continued to rake with a .353/.421/.588 line this week. Wet blanket time: Baxter's .474 BABIP on the season means he's going to come down to earth.
Jason Bay, LF			He's apparently about a week to ten days away from returning.
Ronny Cedeno, SS			Cedeno continues to outperform his career on-base percentage.
Ike Davis, 1B			Ike's not going to Buffalo yet, but he's going to need to hit better than this at some point to stay in the big leagues for the entire season.
Lucas Duda, RF			One of the Mets' better hitters this season, The Dude had just one extra-base hit on the week.
Scott Hairston, OF			A very 2011 Hairston week – limited playing time with power at the plate.
Rob Johnson, C			Rob Johnson the pitcher was better than Rob Johnson the hitter.
Daniel Murphy, 2B			Remember when the concern about Murphy was his ability to play second base? Where has his bat gone?
Mike Nickeas, C			There's just not going to be offense at the position until Thole comes back.
Vinny Rottino, IF			He played first a couple of times in Ike's place but wasn't any better at the plate.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis, OF			He may have lacked power, but Kirk still managed to get on base at a .364 clip.
Ruben Tejada, SS			Tejada's rehabbing his injury in Florida and will immediately put Ronny Cedeno back on the bench when he returns.
Josh Thole, C			Thole was cleared to resume baseball activities and should return sooner than later.
Andres Torres, OF			Torres' batting average and slugging percentages matched his uniform number: .056. He did, however, draw six walks.
Justin Turner, IF			Somehow, Turner was hit by a pitch and walked once in his 13 plate appearnces. He didn't do much else.
Jordany Valdespin, IF			Valdespin got just one plate appearance before he was returned to Buffalo.
David Wright, 3B			He's just not slowing down. .375/.423/.667 this week.
