If you were given 100-to-1 odds today on the Mets to win the World Series this year, how much would you bet? What I mean is, what's it worth to you? I'm sure that many of us would bet a dollar. If you lose, you're out a dollar. If you win, you're up $99. Likewise, you might put up $10, and you probably won't see it again. But on that rare chance something crazy happens, you would make $990. Crazy things can happen (the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals come to mind). Seriously, though, how much would you risk on the chance of a huge payout? $25? $50? More? Of course, one factor here is how much disposable (haha) income you have. But I'm curious, so let's hear it in the comments of this "chat" FanShot.
