NEW YORK, NY - MAY 30: Bobby Parnell #39 of the New York Mets reacts after giving up a two run home run against Carlos Ruiz #51 of the Philadelphia Phillies during their game on May 30, 2012 at Citi Field in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. The Mets had a one-run lead at the end of the first inning and a two-run lead after the sixth inning, but the Phillies knotted the game in the top of the second and seventh innings, respectively. Philadelphia scored a run in the eighth to take its first lead of the game and added six more in the ninth.
We knew it was over when...
Ramon Ramirez served up a three-run home run to Jimmy Rollins in the ninth to stretch Philadelphia's lead to four.
What else?
It is only May 30, but the early returns on trade of Angel Pagan for Andres Torres and Ramon Ramirez are not good.
Before the bullpen coughed up the game, Dillon Gee was very good once again. His strikeout and walk rates this year have been a pleasant surprise.
Lucas Duda hit a pair of home runs, the first of which came against Cliff Lee and gave the Mets a temporary lead.
