when the Mets booked REO Speedwagon
Dave Howard: We need ideas people, we need to put butts in the seats!
Man 1: We could bring back Banner Day?
Howard: Great idea! What else?
Man 2: Bobbleheads of former players, like Keith and whatnot.
Howard: Consider it done. Who else has something?
Man 3: Concerts after the games! It works well on salsa night, so why not try that with non-salsa music?
Howard: I like it, who should we get?
Man 3: How about McCartney? It would be like when the Beatles played Shea!
Howard: Too expensive.
Man 2: Jimi Hendrix?
Howard: He's been dead for 40 years.
Man 4: Bronson Arroyo? I bet he'd be cheap.
Howard: You're fired.
Man 3: Well, actually guys, I had someone in mind.
Howard: Who?
Man 3: REO Speedwagon. It will really let the fans think its 1986 again, as if Tim Teufel coaching third wasn't enough.
(Everybody stares at Man 3 in silence)
Howard: We are not hiring REO Speedwagon to do a post game concert.
10 MINUTES LATER
Howard: I can't believe we hired REO Speedwagon to do a post game concert.
