Phillies Trade Shane Victorino To Dodgers

Smell you later.

The Phillies have traded decent ballplayer but loathsome peddler of on-field douchebaggery Shane Victorino to the Los Angeles Dodgers for pitchers Josh Lindblom and Ethan Martin.

Victorino was originally selected by the Dodgers in the sixth round of the 1999 draft, but they lost him as a Rule 5 pick to the Phillies before the 2005 season. He has hit .277/.342/.434 in his eight years in Philadelphia, swiping 186 bases in 227 attempts (82%). He's making $9.5 million this season and will be a free agent at season's end.

Mets fans will probably delight in Victorino's departure from the National League East, though many will surely miss rooting for him to fail miserably eighteen times a season. The Mets as a team might miss him, too, as Victorino has hit just .157/.214/.176 in 56 plate appearances against them.

Use this thread to say goodbye to Victorino. Please share your favorite memories of him, your favorite GIFs, screenshots, and Ed Hardy jokes. Godspeed, Shane.
