Just when you thought as a Mets fan that it couldn't get any worse it did, the New York Mets have lost 9 games in a row at Citi Field.
Nine!
Even when your bad thats hard to do. The Mets have now dropped to 53-58 and what was once a promising season with a glimer of hope has completely vanished away.
The Mets tonight lost to the lowly (worst record than us 51-60) Miami Marlins 13-0. Chris Young picthed 4.1 innings tonight for the Mets and gave up 7 earned runs. To make matters worse Jose Reyes who only had 7 home runs before tonight, hit a bomb off of Young.
The thing that is really hard to think about is it really looks like for right now there is not a lot of hope, or a light at the end of the tunnel. With there being over 50 games left you have to wonder when the team really checks out, if they havent already, this could get ugly. The Mets made no moves before the trade dead line and every game that we lose fans are more and more lost, searching for answers.
The Mets throw 14-3 starter R.A. Dickey out tomorrow to try and stop the bleed and break this streak at home, the Marlins have Josh Johnson taking the mound for the 12:10pm start.
This is a rubber match and the New York Mets fans would love to see this team win their second series in a month (Giants last week other).
