Quick Recap: Mets 6, Marlins 1; Dickey's Knuckler Dances, Torres Owns

Dickey Face on the way.

Today's win was a salve for the wounds created by yesterday's debacle. Apparently the team was lacking the 'big hit' according to the booth, and before the eighth inning, all of their runs were scored on two-out hits. The team needed someone to stop the bleeding. R.A. Dickey's knuckler danced and floated. He didn't walk a guy. He threw a complete game. Andres Torres was getting on base, but needed some hits. He fell a single short of the cycle. The team piled on against Heath Bell after the booth piled on about Heath Bell, and then the game was suddenly a laugher that didn't require much help from the pen. The Mets looked a lot better in the hazy, humid noon-time sun.

We knew it was over when...

Andres Torres hit a screamer that was an inch short of his second home run of the game to put the Mets ahead 5-1 in the eighth inning.
