So Ike Davis is out of the lineup tonight against the Phills and it seems as if they are going to sit him against LH for the rest of the season. The reason is to give Duda time at First Base and keep his bat in the lineup every day. What is the logic behind this? Are the Mets seriously considering trading Ike and letting Duda be the everyday first baseman next year? How do they account for the fact that Duda has no power against left handed pitching while Ike actually has hit LH better and shown more power? I like Duda and was disappointed that he did not show more progress this year but you cannot count on him more than Ike as an everyday player Is there something else going on here? This move confuses me greatly.
