Nothing new on the Justin Upton front but Bob Nightengale of USA Today said this morning that the Mets have shown strong interest in quirky former Giants' closer Brian Wilson. Sandy Alderson watched Wilson throw in a private workout on Saturday. That'd be a nice speculative gamble for the Mets pen.

Meanwhile, Marc Carig says that the team continues to play the waiting game in the starting pitching and outfield market in order to capitalize on the approaching start of spring training.
