We're stat frauds, right? We love our acronyms. It's time to start getting everything in place for the 2013 AARGH.
Not that we have agendas, or that we only talk about baseball, but we've got plenty to shoot the breeze about:
- The R.A. Dickey trade (much beer will be consumed on this one)
- The farm system
- The Wilpons' finances
- Mike Piazza and the Baseball Hall of Fame
- Assorted other Mets-related things
The last time we all got together to hang at a non-baseball game, we went to The Gingerman NYC- so don't ever say we don't drink beer while we watch baseball. It's located in a pretty central location (11 East 36th St, a few blocks from Penn Station, Grand Central, Times Square, and Herald Square), so getting there shouldn't be a problem. They serve more than just beer (there was a mean looking sausage platter that Russ got last time that I might get), so being under 21 shouldn't be a problem. And, I'm not a pub crawler or anything, so maybe it's just me, but for those over 21, the selection of beer that they serve was pretty wide. Unless anyone has any other suggestions, it seems like a fine place to go back to.
Getting the date is a bit more complex. To get right to the point, what dates are good for people who want to come down? The holidays are over and things are more settled schedule wise, so let's hear it. Weekends, seemingly, would be the best for everyone since most don't have to work both Saturday and Sunday, and as a result, copious amounts of alcohol can be consumed. We still have most of January left, and all of February to hammer out dates and times.
