AAOP: Past + Present + Prospects = WS Championship

The time of rebuilding is OVER. Now is the time to start building a contending team. Now with that being said, we are not going to pull a "Yankees" or recently a "Dodgers" and spend money like it is going out of style and deplete the farm system it took years to build. It is time for fans to come back to Queens and flip the record around. Fans have been sent away by seeing favorite players leave, losing baseball and meaningless Sept baseball (outside of Mike Piazza HoF Day).
Here is my plan:

PLAYERS COMING TO PSL
David Wright - $20mil
Jon Niese - $5.05mil
Scott Rice - $535k
Zack Wheeler - $500k
Juan Lagares - $500k
Travis d'Arnaud - $500k
Vic Black - $500k (BP)
Jenrry Menjia - $500k (SP5)
Jeurys Familia - $500k (BP)
Anthony Recker - $500k (cheap and ok)
Josh Edgin - $500k BP
Josh Satin - $500k (fight for 1B)
Gonzalez German - $500k
Kirk Nieuwenhuis - $500k (should have been Baxter)
Wilmer Flores - $500k
TOTAL = $31.585mil

Season Ending Injury Payments (75% covered)
Matt Harvey (AAAARRRRGGGGG) & Jeremy Hefner = $250k payout

Buyouts
Johan Santana - $5.5mil
Jason Bay Outfielder who will not be mentioned 2 - $3mil
Total Flushed Down the toilet = $8.5mil

Arbitration Pickups
Ike Davis - $3.5mil (Trade)
Daniel "The Irish Hammer" Murphy - $3.2mil (Staying in Queens)
Dillon Gee - $3.4mil (We need his arm this year)
Lucas "The Dude" Duda - $1.8mil (Fight for 1B)
Justin Turner - $800k (Good for the bench)
Eric Young Jr - $1.9mil (4th OF/backup 2B)
TOTAL = $14.6mil

Now comes the fun part.

1. SIGN JOHAN SANTANA - $1.5mil / 1yr

Why not, there may be some magic left in there and we already gave him a $5.5mil buyout. Fans will comeout to see if "No-Han" can do it again. Include incentives that can make the deal worth $5mil with 10+ wins/ERA under 3.00/22+ starts. OK OK I will ask the question before it hits the comments section "WHAT HAPPENS WHEN HE GETS HURT?" That is when THOR or Montero step up and take the spot.

2. TRADE IKE DAVIS, MATT DEN DEKKER, ZACH LUTZ AND JASON DEGROM to TEXAS for JURICKSON PROFAR

Looking at Texas, Moreland is a defensive nightmare at 1B but is placed there for his bat (kind of like the Irish Hammer). Ike is great defensively and will get a change of scenery to hopefully restart his career. Zach Lutz, (who will never play 3B for the Mets as long as Wright is around) can spell Adrian Beltre and allow him to DH once a week. Throw in a young outfielder who can be a 4th OF and an injury replacement and a pitching prospect (who does not love pitching prospects) and I believe we have tools to make a deal. The Rangers are in a pickle when it comes to their infield. Kinsler is going to be a 2B for a long time, Andrus is signed to a huge deal to play SS until 2023 (can opt out in 2018). Profar played a little OF but with Martin, Rios, Cruz (they want to re-sign him) I do not see a place for Profar. He gives the Mets a future at SS, can slide to 2B and is the type of player Sandy likes to get (Young and Cheap)

3. SIGN COCO CRISP - $23mil / 3yrs

I believe the cereal man is over looked. He has had a positive dWAR every year since 2008, and an overall WAR over 2.5 every year since 2009. He is 33 so not many are willing to go more than 2-3 years. He played 120 games or more since 2010 and has a decent bat. He had 22 HR last year (fluke) but a more realistic 10HR will be ok in Citi. I figure he will hit more doubles thn the 22 last year, I can see about 30. Deal breaks down 8mil/8mil/7mil.

4. SIGN CARLOS BELTRAN - $30mil / 2 years

He has been healthy, he has been GOOD, he has been in NY before and we know he understands the pressure. He does not hate he Mets. Time to bring him home. We need the bat to protect Wright, and he will make fans come out, dust off the old #15 and come on out.
