ast year I came up with a yearly award called, you guessed it, the real triple crown. To see last year's winners and more details click here.
To recap: I've seen people do this before and claim that BA/OBP/SLG should be the real triple crown of batting, since it incorporates everything with hitting (walks, doubles, and triples, along with the already included home runs and singles). My issue with this is that singles are counted in all three stats, so we're sort of beating around the bush at what we're actually trying to figure out: who is the best at hitting for average, walking, and hitting for power.
That's my new "real triple crown".
Batting Average: who can hit at the highest rate
BB%: who draws walks at the highest rate
ISO: who hits for power at the highest rate
So let's have a look at who won. I used only those eligible for the batting title.
