New York Mets related news and links for February 1, 2013

There wasn't a whole lot in the way of Mets news that broke yesterday, and there wasn't all that much out there for Mets-related stories either. The Mets added LaTroy Hawkins on a minor league deal.

David looked back at January 31 in Mets history.

James did a winter roundup for This Week In SNY.

Around Baseball

The A-Rod steroids story that is so much more heinous than the Ray Lewis steroids story appears to have a lifelong Mets fan as the reported supplier.

A former Met farmhand managed to latch on elsewhere, as Eric Niesen signed with the Seattle Mariners organization.

Martin Prado was one of the pieces that the Diamondbacks wanted for Justin Upton, and they gave him Angel Pagan money to stay in Arizona long term. Value-wise, this looks like a win for the Braves.
