Meet the Mets

The Mets had an off day on Tuesday. Johan Santana reported to Mets' camp anyway but did not throw from a mound and may not throw today either. If Santana isn't ready to go by April 7th, Jeremy Hefner will get a shot in the rotation.

Daniel Murphy is working his way back and says that his injury came from changes he made to his swing to add more power.

Want to see photos of Jordany Valdespin's fateful meeting with a Justin Verlander fastball? Before you ask, they are not Instagram selfies, Jordany is wearing all of his clothes, and there's not a Marlins hat in sight.

Tough break for righty pitching prospect Michael Fulmer, who tore his meniscus and had surgery in New York yesterday. Thankfully, this isn't an arm injury and it should only keep him out a few weeks into the season.

ESPN takes a look at the effects of Citi Field's 2012 dimensions as it projects what might happen in San Diego and Seattle this year as those ballparks mimic the Mets' fence move.

Greg Prince of Faith and Fear in Flushing has a new nickname for David Wright: Ambassador.

Around the Majors

David Wright knocked in five runs as Team USA beat Puerto Rico 7-1. Love David Wright, Love The Mets #LoveTheMets.

Astros' owner Jim Crane is interested in moving the team's spring training home to the east coast of Florida. Meanwhile, the unused Astrodome is falling apart but will cost a ton to be demolished.

Roy Halladay got rocked by the Tigers, allowing 7 runs in 2.2 innings, while sitting in the mid-80s with his fastball and struggling with location. Naturally, Charlie Manuel is concerned. The Good Phight says Halladay might still be broken.

Meanwhile, Zack Greinke visited a doctor with elbow discomfort and doesn't know if he'll be ready for his first game of the season.

Dayn Perry has an interesting idea for a compromise when it comes to the designated hitter.
