Can Ike Davis bounce back?

The New York Mets debuted Ike Davis on April 19th, 2010 against the Chicago Cubs. Davis singled in his first major league at bat and went 2 for 4 that day. Davis then became the everyday first baseman and his career took off from there. Just 4 games later, Davis hit a 450 foot bomb onto Shea Bridge at Citi Field. On June 8th, Davis hit a walk off home run against the Padres. That season he had 11 home runs before the All-Star break. This tied him for most all time by any Mets' rookie. After that 2010 season, the entire Mets' organization must have been excited about this new young prospect. This excitement took a step back during the 2012 season. Davis recorded his lowest batting average ever on May 24th at .159. This included a stretch at home where he went 3 for 81. All Mets' fans would agree that he looked like a different player. Davis looked lost up at the plate. Davis finished the 2012 season with 32 home runs and 90 RBI's. However, he only batted .227. So the question is, can Ike Davis bounce back this season? Of course, no one knows the answer, but everyone is praying for a different outcome this year. On a Mets' team that has very minimal offense aside from David Wright, Davis is a much needed bat in the lineup. The Mets will lack power this year, especially after getting rid of Scott Hairston. Ruben Tejada and Daniel Murphy have established themselves as contact hitters. Lucas Duda has not shown much home run promise in his major league career either. Even David Wright has not been hitting for power as of late. Let's face it, we all know the Mets do not look good to contend in their division or even finish with a positive record. They lack much more then power hitting. However, if the Mets have any hope for a magical season, much of the magic is in Ike Davis' bat.
